Set-up and operate multi-axis lathes as needed using MasterCam or G & M Code programming. Work with Quality department to ensure parts are high quality and to assist with non-conformance issues. Suggests improvement opportunities if noticed, to increase efficiency, speed, accuracy, quality etc. Must be a professional with strong workmanship skills, excellent communication skills and a positive attitude.
Duties and Responsibilities
Set-up and operate Lathes - not limited to choosing and loading appropriate tools and fixtures to job needs.
Load CNC program into controls and enter tool length, offsets, etc.
Run programs, perform measurements and make adjustments as necessary so the product meets customer specifications/standards.
Work with quality department with regards to first piece, in process and final inspection – completing notification and documentation as needed.
Help/Train other operators.
Troubleshoot as needed, help Quality Department with non-conformance issues – participate in corrective actions.
Identify cost reduction and continuous improvement opportunities as they relate to the function.
Other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills / Knowledge
Knowledge of MasterCam preferred.
Experience programming using G & M code.
Knowledge of 4+ Axis and/or Mill-Turn equipment
Able to use tools of the trade: jigs, fixtures, vices, etc.
Ability to read blueprints, specifications and quality plans- and maintain documentation.
Knowledge of GD&T
Capable of organizing to and meeting deadlines.
Ability to work standing, bending, lifting and carrying 35lbs.
CNC Lathe Programming and Setup: 5 years (Preferred)
